Air Senegal has signed a memorandum of understanding with France based plane maker Airbus for two A330neo aircraft at the Dubai Airshow.
According to Airbus, the deal makes Air Sénégal the first carrier in Africa to select the A330neo line.
“Aviation is a catalyst for economic development and this purchase demonstrates Senegal’s ambitions for economic growth in line with the country’s strategy to accelerate progress towards emergence (Plan Emerging Senegal),” said Philippe Bohn, CEO of Air Sénégal.

The Airbus A339neo is a wide body jet airliner currently under development by airbus from the airbus A330ceo. A new version with modern engines developed for the Boeing 787 was called for by owners of the current A330.

The A330neo is the launch vehicle for Airbus’ new cabin philosophy, meaning its passengers will be able to enjoy this truly beautiful, inspiring and relaxing living space.
The extended-fuselage member of Airbus’ A330neo product line – the A330-900neo –can accommodate 287 seats in a typical three-class layout or up to 440 for high-density configurations. Incorporating the latest-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, along with aerodynamic improvements – including new composite Sharklet wingtip devices – as well as increased lift and reduced drag, the A330neo is a more efficient aircraft that will generate savings through reduced fuel burn.
