6 LESSONS I LEARNED FROM 6 YEARS OF RUNNING A SUCCESSFUL DIGITAL MARKETING BUSINESS: BY Nour Shaaban

1- Think abundantly. I had $0 to start with. Yet, I always believed I will make a lot of money and become rich. As such, all my actions were based on that, rather than on feeling poor or limited. I was very comfortable taking risks, and if I bought something for my business, I would not feel bad about it. I would think of it as part of the process, and even if it doesn't turn out well, I can always make more.

2- Let nay-sayers fuel your ambition. Out of every friend and family member I know, I can only think of one person who believed I could do it. Everyone else laughed at me when I told them about my dreams. That didn't stop it. It FUELED me. I was more determined than ever. And I proved everyone wrong.

3- Surround yourself with successful people. Some people will call me an asshole for saying this, but at some point I had to weed out a lot of the people I hang out with. Instead, I started hanging out with like-minded people who were successful or had similar ambitions. Whether you like it or not, the people you're around have a massive impact on how rich you are. It's up to you to choose.

4- Overcome mental barriers to make more money. This is one of the most overlooked pieces of the puzzle. So let's say you want to make $10,000 per month. Why not $100,000? Why not $1 million? I challenge you to make a list of the reasons why you can't make $100k a month. Now consider those reasons logically. You'll find that 99% of them are just mental barriers that don't make any sense. If you aim for something, you'll find a way. So whenever you set a new goal, consider this point.

5- Don't wait. I learned this lesson the hard way. There are countless projects I wanted to start or invest in. Yet, inertia kept me from investing until it was too late. Opportunity doesn't wait for anyone. If you see a good opportunity, execute immediately. You might fail but you have a chance at winning. If you don't, you have 0 chance of winning.

6- Invest in yourself. A lot of people make the mistake of overlooking this point. Hire a life coach, read books, learn, but also travel, go out and enjoy yourself, watch a movie every now and then. Life isn't all business. I'd rather be happy than rich and miserable.

BONUS TIP - Don't take life too seriously. Whatever religion you believe in, in a few years none of us will be here. Think about this when you want to start that company, quit your job, talk to that girl/guy you like... And remind yourself of this everyday. Let it fuel you, not scare you. Have fun, and make the best out of it.
