US Launches $5m Global Venture Challenge for Nigerian startups in Lagos. 

3 Successful startups will be awarded $5,000 grants each.

Connecticut Innovation, a US based organization that gives key speculation to beginning period innovative organizations, has declared Lagos as its next area for its worldwide venture challenge, “VentureClash”

In an announcement, the organization said it picked Lagos as a perfect area to extend the impression of its VentureClash worldwide venture challenge since it recognized Nigeria as a promising center point of creative, high-development potential organizations.

VentureClash is Connecticut Innovation's overall challenge for organizations that are currently progressing innovative ideas in Financial Technology (FinTech) the Internet of Things (IoT), Insurance Technology (InsurTech) and Digital Health technology.

The two-day tech pitch battle which will run from May 22– 23, 2018 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lagos, will unite the most encouraging organizations from Africa to vie for one of three semifinalist spots in VentureClash, a $150,000 investment grant from Connecticut Innovations for the primary spot champ, and $5,000 grants given to each of the three best finalist to visit and tour Connecticut as a place to live and grow a business.

To be considered, organizations must probably been doing business for no less than one year, have paying clients or clients who are currently trying their innovative products, and consent to the terms and conditions, which incorporate having an existence in the city of Connecticut.                   The individuals who meet the challenge criteria must apply on or before or before May 14, 2018, by going to:

The best 10 or 20 organizations that applied will be welcome to pitch at the Lagos event. They will each be given eight minutes to exhibit their organizations to a live group of investors which will be followed by a concise inquiries and replies by a board of judges (Q&A). After consultation by the judges, the three eventual winners will be chosen to proceed onward to the elimination rounds round of VentureClash.
